The Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon has assigned the chairman of the Israeli general security department Ave Dikhter to make contacts with heads of the Palestinian security department in order to foil Palestinian operations.
The Israeli radio said that Sharon briefed the US secretary of state Colin Powell on Tuesday evening on the content of these directives ( given by Sharon to Dikhter ) in a telephone call they held.
