Moroccan, Spanish socialist parties sign cooperation agreement

Moroccan "Socialist Union of Popular Forces" (USFP) and Spanish "Socialist Labor Party" (PSOE) signed in Rabat on Tuesday a cooperation agreement on issues of interest to the two countries, the two political parties and the Euro-Mediterranean space.
Under the agreement signed by the USFP first secretary and Morocco's prime minister, Abderrahmane Youssoufi, and the PSOE secretary general, the two parties undertake to coordinate their efforts in supporting and developing the economic, social and cultural cooperation policy. The agreement also defines consultation mechanisms between the two parties over emigration and the dignity of the Moroccan community living in Spain by supporting social welfare and cultural and educational programs.
The two socialist parties agreed to enhance cooperation between local communities of the two countries and decided to set up a friendship association between their respective parliamentary groups.
The PSOE and the USFP will also develop cooperation programs between their youth and women sections and coordinate efforts to promote conditions of security and stability in the Euro-Mediterranean space and step up north-south dialogue and dialogue between the Arab-Islamic world and the European community.
A PSOE delegation, led by the party secretary general, is currently on a visit to Morocco.
