Jordan, Local, 12/18/2001
Civil status offices in Jordan have been witnessing great turnout by the Jordanians to change their personal IDs by elections cards in preparation to take part in the legislative elections due to be held in July 2002.
This turnout coincides with the count down for the expiring of the time determined by the government to offer election cards by the end of this month, December, as the process of issuance these cards started by the beginning of September.
The Jordanian civil status department has intensified its measures and recruited large number of state employees to increase election cards issuance to include the great turnout by the citizens to change their personal IDs by election cards.
