Some 31,000 Iraqis died because of the sanctions

The Iraqi ministry of health said on Saturday that more than 31,000 Iraqis including 21,000 children under five year old years died during the three past months as a result of the sanctions imposed on Iraq since more than 11 years.

A statistics issued by the Iraqi ministry of health said that 31.000 persons die din Iraq during September, October and November because they had suffered different diseases resulting from food and medicine shortage because of the continued siege which has been imposed on the Iraqi people since 11 years.

The ministry explained in a statistics that 9776 died in September including 6880 under five year old because of diarrhea, lung, breathing and malnutrition diseases.

The statistics explained that the majority of the deaths resulted from cancer swollen because the American and British forces used internationally banned weapons including depleted uranium in the aggression against Iraq in 1991.

Total number of deaths as a result of the sanctions reached 1,192,565.
