Iraq accuses Kuwait of investing border oil fields and interfering in its internal affairs
Iraq-Kuwait, Politics, 12/14/2001
The Iraqi government on Wednesday asked the UN to interfere in order to stop "the separate investment" by Kuwait of Iraq's oil in one of the oil fields in the southern parts of Iraq.
In a message handed over by Iraq's permanent representative at the UN Muhammad al-Douri to the UN secretary general on Wednesday, Iraq has called on the UN " to interfere and to demand Kuwait halting the single investment of the joint border oil fields."
Iraq's permanent representative at the UN also accused Kuwaiti of " interfering in the Iraqi internal affairs." The statement explained that since 1992 Kuwait has been giving financial and logistic support for the US and Britain in their policies aiming at interfering in Iraq's internal affairs through supporting and financing terrorist sides aiming at destabilizing security in Iraq and violating its territorial integrity."
