Jordan-Iraq, Politics, 12/11/2001
The director general of the Jordanian Royal airlines Samer al-Majali has announced that the insurance company has agreed to have back the insurance cover for the Jordanian royal planes which will work on Amman- Baghdad line, which suspended flights following the attacks against the US on September 11.
In a statement, the company said that an application was submitted to the UN on Monday ( December 10) to run its first flights as from Friday ( December 14) after necessary consent will be granted from the UN.
Al-Majali added that Amman- Baghdad airline will be served in an average of four flights a week to facilitate the movement of passengers between the two countries and to re- activate this line which serves citizens and the active trade movement between Jordan and Iraq.
He said it is a good chance that humanitarian flights will be resumed before the fall of al-Fiter Eid and the News year and the Christmas celebrations and thereby alleviating the sufferings resulting from suspending operating this line.
