Morocco attends meeting on agriculture in New Delhi

Morocco attended an international seminar on fertilizers and agriculture, held Dec. 6-8 in the Indian capital city of New Delhi.
Participants debated the challenges posed by the creation of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and means to promote the fertilizers sector.
They also debated India's fertilizers consumption, the growth of the sector and fertilizers' marketing prospects.
India's fertilizers consumption decreased by 1,44 million tons in 2001 going down from 17,07 million tons in 2000 to 16,63 in 2001.
Morocco was represented in the meeting by a delegation from the state-owned phosphates corporation OCP, which is bound by a major joint venture to India's k.K Birla Group. The $ 230-million venture is India's major investment abroad.
