Al-Assad, Mubarak underline uniting Arab positions, demand immediate halting of Israeli aggressions

President Bashar al-Assad of Syria and President Muhammad Hosni Mubarak of Egypt, who on Sunday held a short visit to Syria, held two meetings during which they stressed the importance of working to maintain an Arab united position in solidarity of the legitimate rights of the Arab nation.
The following are details of the meeting between al-Assad, Mubarak.
President al-Assad and President Mubarak held a meeting on Sunday afternoon at al-Shaab palace.
On the Syrian side the meeting was attended by vice President Abdul Halim Khaddam, Muhammad Zuheir Masharqa, the prime minister Muhammad Mustafa Miro, the foreign minister farouk al-Shara, the minister of the economy and foreign trade Muhammad al-Imadi, the minister of electricity Munib Saem al-Daher, oil minister Muhammad Maher Jamal, information minister Adnan Omran and the minister of industry Ahmad al-Humo.
The Egyptian side was attended by members of the delegation accompanying President Mubarak.
In conclusion of the meeting the two Presidents emphasized the following points: First: the continued grave conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories as a result of the Israeli aggressive practices constitute a threat to the security of all countries of the region and the efforts made to achieve just and comprehensive peace.
Secondly, Rejecting attempts made by " Israel" to mix up between terrorism condemned by all Arab states and between the legitimate struggle for liberating the occupied territories as well as rejection to the war declared by Israel against the unarmed Palestinians who defend their national soils and legitimate rights.
Thirdly, demanded all world forces concerned with the question of peace, foremost being the US, the European Union, Russia and the UN to shoulder their due responsibilities to immediately halt the acts of aggression, assassination and destruction which claim the lives of unarmed Palestinians in the occupied territories. A situation which defuses Israel's claims that it pursues a self defense policy.
Fourth; The two presidents assigned the two countries's foreign ministers to work and coordinate with their counterparts of the foreign ministers of the Islamic states in their next meeting in order to reach decisions that reflect the will of the Islamic states in their rejection of the Israeli aggression and their full support to the legitimate Palestinian struggle and to unveil dangers resulting from Israel's continued violation of the UN resolutions and its defiance of the will of the international community and its threats to peace, security and stability in the region.
Then a plenary meeting was followed between the two Presidents.
President al-Assad held an Iftar banquet in honor of President Mubarak. It was attended by members of the delegation accompanying President Mubarak and members of the Syrian side took part in the meetings.
The Egyptian President was accompanied in his visit by an official delegation included the information minister Safwat al-Sharif, the foreign minister Ahmad Maher, the minister of foreign trade Youssef Butrous Ghali, the industry minister Ali al-Saedi, oil minister Sameh Fahmi, the electricity minister Hassan Younis, the political advisor for the Egyptian President Osama al-Baz and Egypt's ambassador in Damascus Muhammad Ahmad Ismael.
