German hostage released in Yemen

A Yemeni official announced that the army and police forces have succeeded in liberating the German hostage held by members of a tribe since November 28th.
News reports said that an official in the province of Ma'reb, 17- Km to the east of Sanaa stressed that the police and army forces were able to liberate the German hostage and arrested one of the kidnappers.
He explained that the hostage was released without exchanging fire between the two sides.The same official added that the Yemeni forces are chasing other kidnappers and suspects used to support them.
The German hostage who was kidnapped on November 28th was held in al-Mahjaza village, 140 Km to the east of Sanaa.
The Yemeni army and police forces launched a military operation aimed at releasing the hostage and resulted in killing at least five persons including two policemen.
The attack was resumed after a truce lasted for 48 hours decided by the Yemeni authorities in an attempt to releasing the hostage without blood-shed.
