Libya to fund social, cultural projects in India

Libya will finance the construction of the Islamic Center of New Delhi and the rehabilitation of the prestigious Shahi Mosque in central New Delhi.
The decisions were announced by Saif Al-Islam Kaddafi, son of Libya's leader Moammar Kaddafi and chairman of the International Charity Foundation Kaddafi.
Saif Al-Islam Kaddafi, who has just wound up a five-day visit to India, also announced that his foundation will finance other social and cultural projects, including the awarding of 300 scholarships to Indian students and the construction of a hospital in Deoband.
During his stay in New Delhi, Saif Al-Islam Kaddafi conferred with several Indian officials, including foreign affairs minister, Jaswant Singh and Ms. Sonia Gandhi, President of the Congress Party.
