Hamas: freezing 'holy lands' assets is illegal
Regional-USA, Local, 12/7/2001
The Palestinian Islamic resistance movement ( Hamas) has stressed that the US freezing of the assets of the charity " holy land" is an " illegal" measure aiming at " pleasing the Zionist lobby."
Deputy chairman of the political bureau of the Hamas movement Mousa Abu Marzouk said in a press statement in Damascus that the " Jews and the Zionist lobby concentrate on this foundation because of its charitable and humanitarian activities inside Palestine and it has been their point since a long time." He added that " the US administration had earlier audited the calculations of the said foundation and found no violation as all the money goes to schools and kindergartens in Palestine."
Abu Marzouk explained that since a long time he donated money to this foundation when he was staying in the US.
