Exports to America's West up by 33 percent

"Egyptian exports to the western US states jumped by 33 percent from January to September, compared to the same period last year," a recent statistical report by the US Commerce Department said.
The report said exports to these states in the first nine months of the year rose to $ 137.3 million from $ 102.4 million in the corresponding period last year.
Saeed Qassem, Head of the Trade Representation Office, said exports included ready-made clothes, yarn and textiles, furniture, antiques, hand-made carpets, handicrafts, perfumes, frozen vegetables, ceramics and granite.
Imports from these states rose in the same period by one percent from $ 445 million in the same period last year to $ 452 million this year.
"Imports included computers, software electronic equipment, medical instruments and medicines," Qassem said.
