Maher to have talks with Moratinos on EU peace efforts

The Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher receives today in Cairo European Union (EU) peace envoy to the Middle East Miguel Moratinos. Diplomatic sources said that Moratinos' one-day visit to Egypt comes as part of European efforts to calm down the situation in light of the recent escalations in the Palestinian territories.
Moratinos will brief the Egyptian officials on the outcome of contacts made by the European countries with all parties concerned aimed at stopping violence and resuming the peace process, they added.
Moratinos meets during his visit with Osama Al-Baz, Presidential Political Advisor and Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa.
