Israel kills five Palestinians, other hundreds wounded

Amid world-wide Arab and international denunciation,the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon continued attacking the Palestinians. Three Palestinians were killed and other tens wounded by the Israeli bullets fire and bombardment by Apatchi and F 16 planes, while the cities of the West Bank and Gaza witnessed new breaking in operations by the Israeli forces by tanks resulted in destroying more headquarters of the Palestinian authority, houses, farms and displacing secure Palestinian citizens.

Israeli military sources said that the government of Sharon green-lighted the army to carry out a long term unprecedented military campaign against the Palestinians, noting that this campaign will be expanded gradually in the few coming days.

The beginning of the Israeli attacks was in Gaza where the Israeli helicopters, F 16 planes and tanks bombarded and the Israeli missiles hot al-Aqsa school and this resulted in killing one child and wounding more than 150 others, 25 are in critical health conditions. Two Palestinians were killed and other 100 wounded when the Israeli bombardment targeted the headquarters of the Palestinian authority and the adjoining houses in Gaza, Khan Younis and Beit Lahia.

News reports said that several headquarters for the PA were destroyed completely and that five buildings and a mosque were also destroyed including the airport of Gaza which was re-occupied by the Israeli tanks following the bombardment. Among the murdered were known Nidal Sandouqa and Raafat al- Bajali.

In the West Bank the Israeli forces bombarded Ramullah city and the headquarters of Yasser Arafat, who was in it but was not wounded and the bombarded extended to Beitonia town near Ramullah.

In Nablus, the Palestinian youth Amjad Toubashi was murdered when Israeli tanks broke into the city, whereas four Israeli soldiers were wounded when their tanks collided into a trench.

One Palestinian was killed in Bethlehem and other 15 wounded when F 16 planes bombarded the city and the bombardment covered the cities of Jenin and al-Beera. The Israeli forces also broke into Toulkarem and carried out vast mopping up and detention campaigns extended to Qabatia and al-Tel villages and the Israeli attackers converted several buildings into Israeli military barracks and then Apatchi helicopters started bombarding Toulkarem by missiles.

The Israeli forces also broke into the Islamic university of Abu Deis near Jerusalem and arrested several students under charges of resisting the occupation.

He Israeli minister of security Ozi Landao described the attacks as an introduction for continued military activities until the Intifada is eliminated. He said: " Our army is now in a real war in which it can use all sorts of weapons."

The chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat said that Sharon does not want the peace process to be resumed because he had decided to escalate the military operations against the Palestinian people.
