Jordan invites Arab follow up committee for meeting over Palestinian conditions
Jordan-Palestine, Politics, 12/5/2001

Jordan has decided to invite the Arab follow up committee to convene a meeting next Sunday in Cairo in an attempt to contain the tense situation in the Palestinian territories and the aggression against the Palestinian people by the Israeli occupation forces.

This was expressed on Tuesday in Amman by the Jordanian foreign minister Abdul Illah al-Khatib in a press conference in which he said that this falls in the course of intensive contacts the Jordanian King is making to this effect.

Al-Khatib said he will leave for Geneva to speak in the name of the Arab group before the conference of signatory sides of the fourth Geneva treaty.

He continued that the Jordanian foreign diplomatic move has been concentrated on the US and countries of the European Union in order to halt the Israeli attacks and contain the tense situation in the region.
