Fischer calls on Palestinians, Israelis to support US mediation efforts, Bush condemns explosions

German Foreign minister Yushka Fischer on Sunday urged the Palestinians and the Israelis to support the American mediation efforts.

News reports quoted Fischer as saying in a statement to the ministry that the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat to exert his utmost efforts to prevent " suicide operations" and demanded him to arrest persons responsible for these operation.

Fischer was commenting on the " suicide operations carried out in Jerusalem on Saturday.

Meantime, US President George Bush on Saturday evening condemned the explosions took place on Saturday in Jerusalem and resulted in killing 10 Israelis and wounding 170 and the killing of the Palestinians who executed this operation.

News reports said that Bush called on the chairman of the Palestinian authority Yasser Arafat to self- control and arresting those responsible for these operations and to work for abiding by fighting what is called terrorism.
