On the new Syrian government

In its Saturday's issue, the Egyptian daily al-Ahram said that the current Syrian government will submit its resignation to President Bashar al-Assad this week, as the ruling Baath Party has completed its nominations for the new members in the government.
Al-Ahram added that the nomination say that certain ministers will stay in their posts. They are the defense minister Mustafa Tlass, the foreign minister Farouk al-Shara, the deputy premier for services Naji al-Otari, the planning minister Isam al-Zaem, the information minister Adnan Omran, the transport minister Makram Obeid and the ministers of health and higher education.
Al-Ahram said that the Baath party nomination proposed the ministerial reshuffle to include ministers who stayed in the ministry more than 10 years in order pave the way for new leaderships and new bloods.
The paper indicated that the main change will be in the ministries of culture, tourism and the economy.
