Morocco banks on 6.5 percent growth this year

Morocco banks on a 6.5 percent growth rate in 2001, Moroccan economic forecast and planning minister, Abdelhamid Aouad said.
The result will be scored thanks to an average agricultural season, the stability or the fall in oil prices and the positive effects of the selling of 35 percent of the capital of Morocco's phone operator (Maroc Telecom) to French Vivendi Group, Aouad told the weekly cabinet meeting held Thursday under the chairmanship of Premier Abderrahmane Youssoufi.
