Saudi Arabia-Jordan, Politics, 11/30/2001
Diplomatic sources in al-Riyadh said that the Saudi and Jordanian sides studied seriously the discussions the Jordanian King Abdullah II held on Wednesday evening in al-Riyadh with the Saudi King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz during the quick visit the King held to al-Riyadh, the possibilities of the US striking Arab states after Afghanistan.
Conditions in Afghanistan and developments concerning the Palestinian question and the march of peace were the main points discussed during the two meetings the Jordanian King held with his Saudi peer King Fahd and with the Saudi crown prince Abdullah.
The diplomatic sources indicated that the two sides welcomed the new American intention to revive the peace process and the determination of the American administration to intensify its efforts and contacts to resume peace negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis.
They, in this respect, stressed the need that the American move will be based in pushing forward the peace process in the region, on UN security council resolutions and the agreements signed between the Palestinian and Israeli sides so as to guarantee the Palestinian legitimate rights including their right to establish the Palestinian independent sate with Jerusalem as a capital.
