Kurdish official denies clashes with 'Jund al-Islam'

The representative of the Kurdistani national federation led by Jalal al-Talibani in Ankara, denied news reports which indicated the occurrence of intensive clashes between " Jund al-Islam" and forces of the " National federation" near the city of Halabja in north Iraq.

The representative Bahrouz Kalali told reporters on Thursday that such battles did not take place between the two sides.

He also denied any of the officials of the Kurdistani national federation to have had stated that, but he remarked that frictions frequently made between the two sides.

However, news reports said on Thursday that 50 persons were killed during violent fighting rook place on Saturday between " Jund al-Islam " group and forces " the Kurdistani national federation," near the city of Halabja in north Iraq.
