Lebanese foreign ministry delegation heads for Damascus today

A Lebanese diplomatic delegation chaired by the secretary general of the acting foreign ministry and expatriates Naji Abi Assi will hold talks at the Syrian foreign ministry pertaining to international developments and co-ordination of stances between the two countries concerning UN resolution 1373.

The Lebanese delegation is composed of ambassador Jubran Soufan, and the director of the foreign minister and expatriates office Muhammad al-Deeb.

On the other hand, well-informed diplomatic sources said that the follow up committee of the special Arab summit for the year 2000 will be held in Cairo on January 4 and 5 at the level of the foreign ministers.

The sources said that besides traditional issues, listed on the meeting's agenda, there will be an important issue which is the convening of the next Arab summit to be held in Beirut on March 25 and 26, 2002, most expectedly.
