Kuwait follows up news of 'Kuwaiti Afghans'

The Kuwaiti The Kuwaiti daily al-Qabas on Wednesday quoted a high ranking security source saying that a group of Kuwaiti citizens suspected to have links to al-Qaida organization in Afghanistan are expected to return back to Kuwait during the few coming days.
The Kuwaiti security source said that some 50 Kuwaitis are in Afghanistan and are fighting beside others of " Afghani Arabs " within the al-Qaida organization led by the Islamist extremist Osama Bin Laden who is accused of terrorism.
As for measures to be taken against them after their return back to Kuwait, the source said that " despite the importance of this case, yet, the vision is not clear yet concerning the fate of those Kuwaiti Afghans."
Al-Qabas added, quoting the said security source that" arrangements are underway" with the UN and other sides concerned in order to follow up news and fate of these Kuwaiti Afghans.
The source said the Kuwaiti authorities intends to investigate those men when they arrive back to the country, which it was said they had left at different times, noting that the " return back of those persons will be preceded by precise investigations in the activities they had participated in and whether they took part in terrorist operations against foreign sides." Simultaneously, the paper said the Kuwaiti security authorities follow up the moves of a Kuwaiti citizen who recently returned back to the country following his participation in the fighting in Afghanistan.
Worthy mentioning that Suleiman Abu Gheith, the spokesman for al-Qaida is of Kuwaiti nationality. Instantly, the Kuwaiti government deprived Abu Gheith from his Kuwaiti nationality after he had recently appeared in TV's screens announcing statements for al- Qaida.
