Arab states investment climate improved

An official report has indicated that there was a tangible and growing growth in the Arab states investment climate in 2000.
The annual report which was issued by the Arab company for investment insurance highlighted the main indicators of the investment climate in the Arab states, the promotion efforts carried out by these countries, activities of the Arab stock-market, the movement of inter-Arab investment flow. The report indicated that the political stability in many Arab states was positively reflected on the conditions of investment climate in general.
The report also dealt with economic indicators on the economic growth, internal and external balance and inflation average.
Concerning inter- Arab investments, the available data to this end say that total inter- Arab investment in projects licensed during 2000 reached USD 2278.2million, representing an increase of USD 94.8 million over the figures of 1999, at a rate of 4.3%.
In 2000, the Arab states received investments at a vale of USD 9.5 billion as foreign investments. A matter which stressed the improvement of the investment clime in the Arab states in general.
