Burns to visit Saudi Arabia

Officials at the US state department on Tuesday said that the US envoy to the Middle East William Burns will head for Saudi Arabia this week in order to hold talks concerning co-operation in the war against terrorism.
News reports quoted the spokesman for the US state department Richard Boucher said in a press briefing that Burns will discuss several issues, especially the question of financing terrorism, and therefore denied news which said that Ryne Crocker, the US under secretary of state is the one who will preside over the American delegation to Saudi Arabia.
Boucher said that Saudi Arabia is among the countries which work to freezing assets of terrorist organization, noting that the Saudi central bank gave its instructions to the banks in Saudi Arabia to search for accounts listed in the sanctions committee of the UN security Council and to freeze them.
Officials at the US state department expected Burns to visit Egypt also but the time of the visit has not fixed yet.
