Iraqi Troupe Performs Play on Life of Moroccan Martyr Zerktouni

An Iraqi troupe will tour several Moroccan cities December 1-12 to perform a play on the life of Moroccan martyr Mohamed Zerktouni.
The play, retracing Zerktouni's Resistance and struggle against French colonialism, will be performed by renowned actors, including Sami Kaftan, Aouatef Salmane and Haidar Khalid.
The union of Iraqi artists made huge efforts, in cooperation with the Zerktouni Foundation, so that the performance of the play coincides with the Martyr Day celebrated in Iraq.
An emblematic figure of Morocco's fight for independence, Zerktouni was the spearhead of resistance in Casablanca and in several other parts of Morocco. He was killed by the French occupiers.
