Saudi budget registers notable increase

The Saudi general budget has registered a notable increase during 2000 in which government's actual revenues increased at 74.9% and reached approximately 258.1 billion Saudi riyals.
The governor of the Saudi monetary establishment Ahmad al-Sayyari attributed the growth attained in the Saudi GNP during the year 2000, which reached 4.4%, to the growth in the oil sector at 8.5%.
In a press statement issued in al-Riyadh on Tuesday on the occasion of the release of the 37th annual report of the Saudi Arab monetary foundation, al-Sayyari said that the Saudi riyals has preserved its stability during 2000.
