Libyan mass media highlights Mubarak-Gaddafi Summit
Libya-Egypt, Politics, 11/27/2001

"Libyan mass media highlighted the news of Egyptian-Libyan Summit held by President Hosni Mubarak and Libyan Leader Muammar Gaddafi. The summit had dwelt on the march of Sahel and Sahara grouping and the African Union, in addition to other regional and international issues," newspapers said in its frontages.

Along the same vein, the Libyan TV praised the brotherly, close relations binding Egypt and Libya. The TV said in a program aired last Sunday that bilateral relation has been boosted under the leadership of Mubarak and Gaddafi.

This, the program added, led to exchanging more visits, during which many agreements on trading, industrial, economic and cultural fields had been inked.

It stressed that these relations could be a first step to achieve a unified Arab African entity to face up to the world of blocs in the 21st Century. On his part, Egypt's ambassador to Libya, Hani Khalaf said that the summit between President Hosni Mubarak and Libyan Leader Muammar Gaddafi had come within the regional and international and international development. In an interview with Cairo radio he said one of the main topics discussed was the current international anti-terrorism campaign. They also had discussed development in the occupied Palestinian lands, he said. He added that Mubarak-Gaddafi had dealt with joint Arab action and the future of the African Union.
