Egypt, History, 11/27/2001

Chancellor Schuessel Wolfgang, Foreign Minister Ferrero-Waldner, and Minister for the Interior Strasser Ernst attended the Pharaoh's gold exhibition opened yesterday.

The exhibition was opened by Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni and Austrian Minister of Education and Culture Elizabeth Gehrer.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by a number of top politicians, parliamentarians, ambassadors of European states to Austria, and those who were interested in Egypt's civilization.

Addressing the audience Wolfgang thanked President Mubarak for facilitating holding that Exhibition. He praised the unmatchable Egyptian art and the Egyptian civilization by the world peoples.

On his part, Farouk Hosni stressed the significance of boosting relations amongst peoples. He gave an allusion to the necessity of holding the exhibition at that time and particularly in the current world conditions.
