The US- anti terrorism campaign after Iraq
Regional-USA, Politics, 11/27/2001

In its Monday's issue, the US weekly Newsweek said that the US might, after Afghanistan, target institutions suspected to shelter terrorists in Somalia and the Philippines.

News reports quoted the US weekly as remarking that the US naval warplanes carried out reconnaissance flights over Somalia where Washington presumes that the al-Qaida networking owns, at least, a training camp..

The weekly stressed the US had earlier deployed special forces in the Philippines in an attempt to help President Gloria Orio in her war against extremist Philippines, with many of them expected to be linked to al-Qaida organization.

Meantime, the British daily Sunday Times quoted officials in Washington and London as saying that the US and Britain are seeking to attack Somalia, Sudan and Yemen, as new targets linked to Osama Bin Laden.

The spokeswoman for the British ministry of defense, in a statement, underestimated these information but did not rule out the possibility of launching future operations in these three countries.
