Moroccan political milieus welcome Syria's decision to close Polisario bureau in Damascus
Morocco-Syria, Politics, 11/24/2001

The Moroccan political circles welcomed the decision of the Syrian government to close the bureau of the separatist gang, Polisario.

The remarks was made by M'hamed Grine, member of the political bureau of the Party for Progress and Socialism (PPS), who visited Syria.

Grine told MAP news agency that the recent announcement of the closure of the separatists' bureau confirms a situation that already exists.

Grine met on Wednesday with Moutiib Channane, member of the national leadership of the Syrian ruling party, Baath.

The PPS official added that Channane assured him the Syrian people still remember the bravery of the Moroccan soldiers who fell as martyrs in 1973 in defense of the Syrian Golan heights against Israeli invasion.
