Al-Riyadh denied assassination attempt at King Fahd
Saudi Arabia, Politics, 11/24/2001

Saudi Arabia on Thursday denied what was stated by the US daily " Washington Times" on the escape of the Saudi King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz of an assassination attempt claimed his life two weeks ago.

The Saudi embassy in Washington denied " what was stated by the Washington Times" in its Wednesday's issue on that " the procession of King Fahd was exposed to a traffic incident in al-Riyadh." In its November 20 issue, the Washington Times said quoting officials at the American intelligence department saying that a terrorist tried to assassinate King Fahd on November 10 when he pushed his car towards the procession of the Saudi King in one of the streets of the capital..

The US daily added that the car missed the Limousine car which was carrying the King and collided with another car in the process which was running amid a tough security protection measure.
