Arab League: 96% of sums for Jerusalem, al-Intifada funds fulfilled

An official source at the Arab League (AL) praised the measures taken by certain Arab states in paying all its due contributions to the " Jerusalem and the Intifada" Funds.
The source indicated that the report of the Arab League which the committee will discuss later states that the payment rate of the 12 Arab states to the Intifada of Jerusalem and al-Aqsa reached 96% of what already declared sums. The source indicated Arab countries which paid its full contributions to the two Funds are Kuwait USD 150 million; Saudi Arabia USD 250 million; Qatar USD 50 million; Algeria USD 30 million; Yemen USD 10 million; Syria USD 7 million; Oman USD 10 million; Bahrain USD 3 million and Jordan USD 2 million.
The source added that Egypt has paid USD 20 million out of 30 USD million; the UAE ( United Arab Emirates ) USD 135 million out of USD 150 million and Sudan USD half a million USD out of USD one million.
The report added that the Arab states also committed to the implementation of the decision of the Amman's recent summit provided for the transfer of USD 240 million to the Palestinian authority during the period from March 2001 until September of the same year ( 2001) in order to pay salaries of its employees, noting that the Arab states also vowed to pay other USD 165 million for this purpose ( for paying salaries) until the end of the current year 2001.
