Khartoum to host Somali factions unity conference

The IGAD member states and their partners have agreed on Khartoum to host the conference to unify the Somali faction, and this will be in a meeting to be held following IGAD's summit conference which Sudan will host during the second week of January 2002.
The Sudanese daily al-Rai al-Am on Friday quoted Sudan's ambassador in Addis Ababa as saying that the ambassadors of IGAD's member states and IGAD's partners in Ethiopia agreed to organize the Somali factions conference in Khartoum after they had received a detailed report from the envoy of the Sudanese President, who is IGAD's rotating presidency session President, in which concentration is made on Sudan's efforts to solve the Somali question.
