The first instance court of Rabat on Thursday sentenced Ali Lamrabet, director of Demain weekly, to four months in jail for publishing false information harming or likely to harm public order. Lamrabet was also ordered to pay a fine of 30,000 dirhams ($ 2,608). Lamrabet was sued for publishing last October a story on the royal palaces and on alleged plans to sell a palace in Skhirate, a sea resort near Rabat, the capital city.
