EU donation for Jordan

The European Commission has agreed to offer a donation at a cost of 20 million EUROS in the area of privatizing industry in Jordan.
In a statement circulated in Amman on Tuesday the European commission team said that signing the donation agreement will be in Amman very soon and the donation will be provided by MEDA economic program..
The statement said that this program which lasts for five years concentrates on the role, development and mechanism and organization of telecommunications and electricity.
The EC team statement explained that MEDA program offered to Jordan so far a sum of 600 million EUROS since 1996 up to date.
Chief of the EU mission in Amman James Moran said in a press statement that the timing and objectives of this project will be for helping Jordan in the area of economic reform. A matter which will strengthen the Euro-Mediterranean partnership.
