Aziz: Syrian- Iraqi relations are developing
Iraq-Syria, Politics, 11/20/2001
The Iraqi deputy prime minister Tareq Aziz has said in a statement to the London- based magazine " Souraqia" in its recent issue that the relations between Iraq and Syria has been developing since 1997, noting that Syria rejects besieging Iraq.
Aziz stressed that there is an intention to build a new oil pipeline between Iraq and Syria. He indicated that the measure to abrogate the passport and to replace it by the Identity card for the transport of Syrian and Iraqi citizens between the two countries will be left for days to come.
Aziz described the Palestinian state about which US President George Bush talks as a sort of a Checque without a credit because President Bush has not actually declared the border of this state nor its nature.
