Egypt-Israel, Politics, 11/19/2001
Egypt called on Israel to respect the will of the international community in giving up the nuclear option.
In a speech delivered by Assistant Foreign Minister ambassador Mahmoud Mubarak before a conference on effectuating the comprehensive test ban treaty (CTBT), he stressed that Egypt will never rest until the Middle East is rendered free of all weapons of mass destruction, which jeopardize the safety and security of peoples.
He referred to the international community's welcome for and interest in President Hosni Mubarak's initiative launched in April 1990 to free the Middle East of all WMDs.
