Morocco's Trade with Maghreban Countries on the Rise

Morocco's trade exchanges with the member countries of the Arab Maghreb Union (UMA) reached 4.25 billion dirhams (US$ 386.3 mln), nearly $ 393.04 million in 2000. The amount represents a 19.8 percent rise compared to 1999, when trade totaled 3.77 billion dirhams (US$ 342.7 million).
Trade with the Maghreb represents only 2.3 percent of Morocco's exchanges with the world.
