Morocco, Mauritania define implementation programs of fisheries cooperation
Morocco-Mauritania, Economics, 11/14/2001

Morocco and Mauritania agreed here Tuesday at the end of their joint fisheries commission meeting on a set of cooperation programs in fishery matters.

The session, chaired by Moroccan fisheries minister, Said Chbaatou, and Mauritanian peer, Ahmedou Ould Ahmedou, crafted a five year program for research in sea fisheries running between 2002 and 2006.

The two sides also convened to trade experts and promote cooperation between fisheries training centers, under a program for cooperation in training for 2002.

The two countries will further step up cooperation in sea fisheries products marketing and promotion through a program on criteria, trade mark, product development and consumption.

The Moroccan minister was received on Tuesday by Mauritanian president, Maaouya Ould Sid Ahmed Taya, whom he briefed on conclusions of the joint commission meeting.
