Egypt, Bahrain boost media cooperation

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak received on Monday afternoon at the Presidential Palace Nabil Bin Yakoub, Bahraini Minister of Information, who is currently visiting Cairo.

Minister of Information Safwat Al-Sherif and the Bahraini Ambassador to Egypt Ibrahim AL Majed attended the meeting.

On his part, Yakuob said that President Hosni Mubarak entrusted him with a message to Bahrainis Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Issa AL Khalifa on regional and international issues of mutual concern.

In press statements after meeting with President Mubarak, Yakoub said that he listened to the views of the President about the recent developments on the Arab and Middle East arenas along Afghanistan.

On his part, Minister of Information Safwat Al-Sherif said that President Mubarak underlined during the meeting with Minister Yakoub the inalienable principles of the Egyptian policy towards fighting terrorism in all its forms.

'The President underlined the necessity that the international community should work for stopping the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians,' said Sherif.

Minister Yakoub conveyed also a message of greetings from the Bahraini Emir to President Mubarak during the meeting.

On the other hand, Yakoub and Sherif will take up during their talks means of boosting media cooperation on regional and international issues.
