Mubarak, Chirac underline the need for solving Palestinain cause
Egypt-France, Politics, 11/13/2001

The Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and French President Jacques Chirac underlined the need to solve the Palestinian cause, and establish peace in the Middle East. The two leaders said there is no relationship between Islam and terrorism, stressing the necessity of restricting military operations against terrorism to Afghanistan for fear of hurting the interests of the whole world if operation were expanded.

President Mubarak held a tete-a-tete session of talks yesterday with French President Jacques Chirac followed by an expanded session attended by the Egyptian and French delegations.

The Egyptian-French summit discussed a number of hot issues at the international and regional fields including the Middle East peace process, war in Afghanistan, combating terrorism and bilateral relations.
