Roman city unearthed in Beheira
Egypt, History, 11/12/2001
"A Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA) mission unearthed a residential city that dates back to the Roman era," said SCA Secretary-General Gaballah Ali Gaballah.
"The find was made at Kom Nagierea, 35 km away from Kafr el Dawar, Beheira governorate," he added.
"A rectangular-shaped building was also unearthed and it turned out that it was part of a winery, built of red bricks and cement covered with 2 meter-long and 1-metre-wide layer of alabaster," he said.
