Egypt, UAE focused interests on Arab, Islamic issues

The United Arab Emirates UAE foreign minister Rashed Abdullah has underlined the importance of the talks held by President of the United Arab Emirates UAE Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan al-Nahyan with President Muhammad Hosni Mubarak of Egypt on Saturday in Cairo, noting that these talks fall in the course of the two countries ' interests in what is taking place in the Arab and Islamic worlds.

He said in statements to pressmen that such talks enrich the efforts made in the region to halt the fierce onslaught imposed on the Palestinians by Israel, aiming at eliminating them and destroying their social structure and basic components.

For his part, the Egyptian foreign minister Ahmad Maher said that the talks held between Sheikh Zayed and President Mubarak were characterized by reciprocated openness, and understanding, noting that it came amid very serious regional and international conditions as a result of the continued israeli policies and practices against the Palestinian people. He indicated that talks between the two presidents dealt with the issue of fighting terrorism by all means.

The Egyptian minister of information said that discussions dealt with onslaughts challenging the Arab nation in this serious phase the Arab world is passing.

He added that the two sides stressed that what is done by Israel is an organized terrorism. A situation that will not be kept silence concerning it, urging an international community move in order to maintain Israel's withdrawal from the occupied territories and to pullout from the Palestinian cities and lift immediately the embargo imposed on these cities.
