Maghreban infrastructure commission meets in Tripoli

The Arab Maghreb Union commission on infrastructure will be meeting here this Nov.11-12 to examine several items related to roads, transportation, water and other equipment in the region.
Moroccan minister of economic forecasts and planning, Abdelhamid Aouad, will be taking part in the session that he described as very interesting since it is part of the Arab Maghreb Union (UMA) construction process.
Several regions in the Union suffer from shortages in water, he said stressing that member countries ought to coordinate their policies and programs to face the problems. He also underscored the importance of a highway linking Morocco to Egypt to facilitate communication and trade between countries of the Maghreb.
The UMA groups Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia.
