Two french ministers participate in decentralized cooperation conference in Morocco

Two French ministers will be travelling to Morocco this Nov.11-13 to take part in the conference of Moroccan-French decentralized conference in Fez.
The two officials, Charles Josselin, minister in charge of cooperation and francophony, and Claude Bartelone, minister in charge of cities, will be attending the conference together with local elected officials of the two countries, operators of decentralized cooperation and administration executives.
The conference seeks to consolidate intervention capacities of local councils, coordinate their action in local development and cultural activities.
A spokesman for the French foreign ministry said France has allocated for the 1995-2002 period 12.2 million FF to support decentralized cooperation with Morocco. He cited, in this regard, cooperation in urban traffic and an engineering project set forth by the Moroccan city of Oujda and the French Aix-en-Provence.
Several French cities are undertaking town planning, urban traffic, training of local elected officials cooperation programs with Moroccan cities.
Morocco and France will also sign a cooperation agreement on cooperation to fight unhealthy housing.
