Jordanian minister warns against comparing people's resistance of occupation and terrorism

The Jordanian Foreign minister Abdul Illah al-Khatib has warned against comparing and mixing between comparing the resistance of people to occupation and the terrorist act.

In a statement to the Lebanese daily al-Nahar issued on Friday the Jordanian minister stressed the need of solving the Palestinian issue, and establishing the independent Palestinian state so as sources of feelings of frustration and repression in the region will be eliminated.

He added that tension in the region and all its problems are the result of the continued Israeli occupation of the Arab territories. He stressed the need of Arab's concentration on the sufferings of the Palestinians of besieging, killing and displacement as a result of the Israeli practices.

On the declaration made by the US President George Bush towards the creation of the Palestinian state, al-Khatib said that there is an international consensus on the need of establishing a Palestinian state. He indicated that a clear realization has been crystallized in the international community to that any progress will not be attained unless the Israeli government changes its set conditions with the Palestinians.
