Sudan, FAO sign cooperation agreement

The World Food and Agriculture Organization FAO signed a co-operation agreement with the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, which has Khartoum as a headquarters.

A statement by FAO said the agreement which was signed on Thursday evening aims at strengthening technical cooperation and regional food security especially in regard to financial and environment resources.

The agreement also states unlimited regional cooperation in several fields like training and developing of the rural women, pastures, irrigation and analysis of agricultural policies and the exchange of information concerning plant and livestock resources and protection of plants and livestock resources.

The agreement was signed in a special ceremony at Rome's headquarters by its chief Jacque Dayouf and the director general of the Arab organization for Agricultural development Salem al-Louzi.
