ISESCO holds in Tunis international symposium on dialogue among civilizations: theorizing and implementing

The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (IESCO/based in Rabat) is holding this Nov.12-13 in cooperation with the Tunisian government an international symposium in Tunis on: "Dialogue among civilizations: Theorizing and Implementing."

IESCO says in a statement sent to MAP the symposium, part of the United Nations year of dialogue among civilizations, will focus on five main axes: essence of dialogue among civilizations, cultural diversity and dialogue among civilizations, dialogue among civilizations and contemporary issues, mechanisms of dialogue among civilizations; and from dialogue to co-existence.

The event will bring together chiefs of IESCO, of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), of the International Organization of the Francophony and of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO).

The Symposium will also assemble personalities from the intellectual, cultural and academic community from around the Muslim World as well as from some European countries, including the International Islamic Council for Daawa and relief, the General Islamic Conference for AlQuds, National Islamic-Christian Dialogue Committee in Lebanon, the Moscow Islamic Civilization Institute and the Federation of the Middle East studies Association.
