Morocco, Tunisia to enhance cooperation in renewable energy

The Moroccan center for the promotion of renewable energies (CDER) and the Tunisian agency for renewable energies (ANER) signed in Marrakesh Thursday an accord on cooperation in matters of renewable energies and mastery of clean energy and clean technologies.
The accord provides for cooperation in matters of training, conception and supervision of projects, engineering counseling, quality control, energy-related planning, and promotion of research on renewable energies.
Under the accord, the two sides will also cooperate in promoting decentralized electricity systems to supply electricity to remote, isolated areas, rational use of firewood, and promotion of household waste-generated energy.
The two sides will equally encourage exchange between Moroccan and Tunisian research laboratories on renewable energies.
The accord was initialed by CDER and ANER general managers, Abdelhanine Benallou and Mohamed Ezzedine Khalfallah.
