Chirac calls for resuming Palestinian- Israeli negotiations

French President Jacque Chirac has called for exerting efforts to resume the Israeli- Palestinian negotiations.

News reports quoted Chirac as saying in press statements at the headquarters of the UN in New York on Tuesday evening following his meeting with the UN secretary general Kofi Annan that the coalition led by the US in the war against Afghanistan is exposed to a crack if the Israeli- Palestinian negotiations will not be resumed.

On the other hand, the French President set a condition to send more French troops to Afghanistan is his country's participation in planning to military operations there.

On the other hand, President Chirac left New York on Tuesday evening back for Paris in conclusion of a visit to the US lasted for 9 hours during which he met with the US President George Bush and the UN secretary general Kofi Annan.
